Friends of Da-a-Luz
We have created Friends of Da-A-luz to enable everybody to enjoy a beautiful and empowering birth experience whatever their financial situation.
A natural birth is not or should not be an elitist option but available to all. Funds raised from Friends of Da-A-Luz will also be helping us to create our new space, a beautiful yurt surrounded with abundant fruit trees and a free flow non-chlorine pool - a place to inspire both midwives and pregnant women. As members you can watch our progress towards the dream to change birthing for the next generation.
The 3 areas I would like to develop at DA-A-LUZ are:
- To provide a permanent space, (the one we use is very short term) where women can enjoy a nurturing path from conception to birth and beyond and to develop our course so it can be in other places.
- To use the space to offer midwives a chance to rediscover the roots of their profession.
- To develop workshops to run at festivals in England to inform women of childbirth choices and to empower women in their natural ability to birth. These events could reach a good cross section of people and have proved very successful in the past with pregnant women and midwives.
To join we ask for a donation of a minimum of $18 or £10 or €15. If you can afford more – fabulous! Let us realize our dreams. We will update the website with monthly birth stories and progress of our space. Blessed be V.
